Meet Jacque
In my hometown of Columbus, Ohio I grew-up always knowing that I was an artist. At the tender age of 3 years old I had my first art studio under the family dinning room table. By the age of fifteen I began winning scholarships to Saturday morning art classes offered through the Columbus College of Art and Design. After high school graduation I received a scholarship, to the same college, where I continued my education and received a BFA in fashion design and fashion illustration.
I started my 25 year art career freelancing as a fashion designer and fashion illustrator for a local independent clothing company. I then took a turn in my career when I accepted a position with Walt Disney Animation Studios in Orlando, Florida where I worked in animation. My film credits include: "Mulan", "Tarzan", "Lilo and Stitch", "Brother Bear", "Princess and The Frog", "Mickey Mouse" project, "Little Match Girl". "Lion King" Imax, "Pochahontas" additions, and "Goofy's How to Haunt a House". IMDb film credits link HERE (Credits under maiden name Jacqueline M. Shepherd)
After spending almost a decade working on feature films, I opened my art and design studio, and have the pleasure illustrating, designing, and licensing my work in a variety of categories including gift, stationery, apparel, fashion accessories, home textiles and decor for clients world wide. You can find my work with companies and retail stores like Hobby Lobby, Ross, Bed Bath & Beyond, Jellybean rugs, Bradford Exchange, Design House Greetings, Sears, and Walmart.
I'm prolific with Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate and specialize in:
- Illustration
- Surface/Pattern Design
- Character Design
- Product Design
- Fashion Illustration
My art and designs are inspired by and incorporate bright colors, empowering sayings, hand lettering, fashion, nature, layered textures, patterns, all sprinkled with sass and whimsy.
I live with my husband John of 17 years among palm trees and tropical flowers in sunny Orlando, Florida with our two cats Ninja and Zen, but hope to add a little fluffy pooch to our family in the near future. In our free time you can find John and I hanging out in our poolside tiki bar.
